Shellée Haynesworth

Shellée M. Haynesworth is an award-winning and passionate producer, director, and writer. She has produced compelling, craft-first stories, branded and multicultural content, documentaries, and TV programming filmed across the United States and various countries for high-profile clients and leading media outlets including Smithsonian Institution, USAID, DCTV, Everytown for Gun Safety, Gates Foundation, Meta/Facebook, PBS, Black Entertainment Television, and The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Her recent production credits include Daufuskie Island and Beyond!, a digital series charting the beauty and resiliency of the Gullah-Geechee community in coastal South Carolina, Fierceness Served! The ENIKAlley Coffeehouse, an experiential documentary that tells the story of a D.C. carriage house that was a cultural and activism touchstone for the Black LGBTQ community in the 1980s, which premiered at Filmfest DC in 2022, and $even Dollar Return, an investigative documentary highlighting the nation’s capital's challenge with providing equitable universal Pre-K for urban preschoolers. She is a member of Brown Girl Doc Mafia, the Video Consortium, and the Advisory Committee for Women in Film and Video (DC Chapter). She is a recipient of the Canady Foundation for the Arts 2023 The Storyteller Award and Creative DC’s 2019 Filmmaker of the Month.
