Monica Berra is an NYC-based documentary filmmaker whose work has been featured on PBS, WORLD Channel, the New York Times Op-Docs, Field of Vision, and The Atlantic. Currently, she is producing a feature documentary for Kunhardt Films/HBO. Her most recent credits include the docu-series NO PASSPORT REQUIRED (VOX Media/PBS, 2020), the Emmy-nominated docu-series RETRO TECH (VOX Media/YouTube Originals, 2020), and the feature documentary BOSS: THE BLACK EXPERIENCE IN BUSINESS (Firelight Films/PBS, 2019).
Her 2016 short documentary, SOUL CITY, screened at 25+ film festivals worldwide, and earned numerous Best Short Documentary awards during its run. She specializes in archival-based storytelling often focusing on racial justice issues. Originally from Miami, Monica holds an MFA in Documentary Film from Wake Forest University.
