Đoan Hoàng is an award-winning director and producer of Oh, Saigon: A War in the Family, a documentary about her divided family in the aftermath of the Vietnam War. She is working on a follow-up, Oh, America: Divided Country, about the second generation division in her family in America, culminating in her brother marching on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021. She has received awards and grants from Sundance, the National Endowment of the Humanities, the Corporation for Public Broadcast, the Ms. Foundation, the LA Asian Pacific Film Festival, Brooklyn Arts Council, and was a traveling artist for the US Department of State in Spain and Vietnam. Her work has been screened on PBS and international channels, and institutes such as the Museum of Modern Art and Pacific Asia Museum, Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona, US embassies, and many universities.
