Myrakel Baker [she/her] is Firelight Media's Artist Programs Coordinator. She is a Black American filmmaker interested in the creation of character-driven stories rooted in identity and belonging with a focus on BIPOC voices.
Myrakel comes to Firelight from HBO Documentaries, where she assisted the documentary programmers on Carlin's American Dream, Pelosi in the House, and The Janes to name a few.
She is a member of the Brown Girls Doc Mafia, WGAE Women of Color Caucus (WoCC), and New York Women in Film and TV. Myrakel received her M.A. in Documentary Media Studies at the New School.
