The White House Screens Freedom Riders
On Wednesday, October 19, 2011, days after the unveiling of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial in Washington, D.C., the film
FREEDOM RIDERS was screened at the White House. The screening was followed by a panel which discussed the enduring legacy of the 1961 Freedom Rides. The event was organized by the National Endowment for the Humanities’ (NEH) “Bridging Cultures through Law” film series. To learn more, go to
